MR Linac.cross-disciplinary coordination for an Elekta Unity Magnetic Resonance Radiation Therapy facility. This project represented a significant technical challenge: integrating a high-field 1.5T MRI scanner with a best-in-class linear accelerator. The facility required a "bunker-grade" environment with extreme shielding requirements and zero tolerance for spatial conflict.
Mechanical & Electrical Design
Infrastructure Engineering
Building Information Modelling The ProcessUsing Autodesk Revit, we developed a comprehensive digital twin to facilitate Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) coordination within the architectural shell. The primary focus was managing the dense infrastructure required for the MR Linac, including specialized chilled water systems, RF (Radio Frequency) shielding, and heavy radiation protection barriers.
Our role involved rigorous Clash Detection to ensure that complex HVAC ducting and high-voltage electrical containment did not interfere with the structural integrity of the radiation shielding or the sensitive magnetic field of the MRI. By resolving these conflicts in the virtual environment, we prevented costly site delays and ensured that the facility met the stringent technical specifications required for Elekta Unity installation.
